Director, UK Corporate Affairs
Giselle joined Reflections, a leading independent software studio, as General Manager in 1996, following an MBA at Durham University. Reflections later became part of Ubisoft, the global video games publisher and developer.
In her most recent role as Director, UK Corporate Affairs, Giselle is focused on facilitating Ubisoft’s growth and further investment in the UK, and influencing conditions to make that goal achievable. Ubisoft currently has 5 sites in the UK, covering AAA and mobile game development, business & distribution and Ubisoft’s EMEA Consumer Relationship Centre. The majority of teams are based in Newcastle, with additional sites in London, Guildford and Leamington Spa.
In addition to her day to day role at Ubisoft, Giselle is an active contributor to various industry associations and bodies on a local and national level. Giselle leads on talent pipeline, skills development and migration policy as a Director of TIGA, the games industry trade association, and is also a Director for the Creative Industries Federation. She is an Advisory Board Member for Next Gen Skills Academy, working to increase the sector’s industry-led qualifications and developing qualifications for emerging roles.
Within the North East, Giselle is on the Board of Dynamo, the tech cluster group, and also a member of the Advisory Group for Creative Fuse NE, a 3 year research partnership with 5 regional universities, investigating the links between tech and creative organisations.
Giselle’s most recent venture has been becoming a Trustee of a new school for 14-18 year olds: North East Futures University Technical College will provide a unique opportunity for employers to develop the career choices and relevance of educational experiences for 2 of the NE’s economic sectors, digital and health sciences.
Giselle received an OBE for services to Video Games in the 2016 New Year’s Honours List and was named as Person of the Year at the TIGA Industry Awards in 2016.
