A new Federation report aimed at transforming political and public understanding of the importance and value of the creative freelance workforce will be launched this month.
Members are invited to an event to discuss the study which draws on evidence submitted by more than 700 freelancers from across the UK as well as the organisations that employ them. It will be used to better inform government of the working practices of the UK’s freelance workforce and to ensure their needs are considered in all areas of policymaking.
Freelancers account for just under half of creative workers in our sector but their contribution to its growth and success has been long misunderstood. This report demonstrates what freelancers do and how they do it. It gives a clearer picture of their working practices and will offer practical recommendations on how they could be better supported.
