The next generation of creative talent needs your support

March 07, 2019

The Creative Careers Programme offers a unique opportunity to radically increase the impact and reach of our sector’s engagement with young people, and it needs you at its heart. Through our shared mission and a coordinated approach, we can make a far bigger impact together than would be possible alone.

How to Get Involved

Your support, time and expertise are essential to the success of the programme, and there are many ways in which you can get involved. Want to get involved in the CCP but not sure how? Take our easy quiz to help identify which options might be best for you and then email ccp@creativeindustriesfederation.com with your results to get started.

  • HOST WORK EXPERIENCE

Work with S4SNextGen to easily create new placements at your organisation. Hosting young people on work experience is key to creating the awareness, confidence and access that can kickstart careers, and helps break down some of the barriers to entering our industry. Email here to find out how you can get involved.

  • TAKE PART IN DISCOVER!

Take part in Discover! Creative Careers Week from 18th-22nd November 2019 and showcase your organisation’s job roles to young people. Open your doors to local school students for just one day during this week, and help demonstrate the variety of roles and pathways available throughout the creative industries. To express your interest at this stage please email Creative & Cultural Skills.

  • GIVE A TALK IN A SCHOOL

Through an organisation like Speakers for Schools, deliver a talk to young people in a state school about your own career pathway and you could inspire a young person to follow in your footsteps. Get in touch here to express your interest.

  • BECOME AN ENTERPRISE ADVISOR

Enterprise Advisors share strategic insight to their sectors with the senior leadership team of a local school. Assist a local school with developing their careers programme and engagement with the creative industries, and help enable young people to better prepare for work. Find out more about becoming an Enterprise Adviser and express your interest here.

  • PARTNER WITH US TO DELIVER A SERIES OF EMPLOYER-LED WITH YOUNG PEOPLE

We will be partnering with creative businesses and organisations to deliver a series of employer-led events for 11-16 year olds, with the aim of inspiring them to learn more about the creative industries and what might be possible with creative skills when they leave school. If you are interested in delivering an event, or already offer something similar and might be able to share your expertise, please contact Annie Lydford.

  • Ensure that your organisation’s engagement with young people is spotlighted and shared by updating us with the work that you are already doing to help young people learn more about our sector and the kind of work that they could go in to.

Please send information about your work to Annie Lydford.
