The creative industries are the fastest growing part of the UK’s economy, and play a significant role in unlocking innovation and growth in other sectors too. This success is fuelled by established international brands all the way through to micro-businesses - which make up 95% of the UK’s creative enterprises - and a significant number of self-employed workers and freelancers.
We want to support these entrepreneurs and help grow creative enterprises by delivering practical services for our members. Building on the strength of our research and advocacy to date, we will also champion the priorities of these constituents and work closely with national and local government to identify means to grow the sector at large.
In 2018-2019, we will:
Advocate on behalf of individual creative workers who are self-employed;
Articulate what creative businesses and entrepreneurs need to grow, and deliver practical interventions in response to these needs;
Publish a report on the finance and funding landscape as it relates to growth, and compile a strong case to government on priorities ahead of the Autumn Budget and 2019 Spending Review;
Convene members with policy-makers, politicians, and Local Enterprise Partnerships throughout the UK to identify opportunities to boost growth and innovation;
Work closely with UK government as it delivers its industrial strategy, ensuring that the creative industries remain at the heart of it.
