Letter to BEIS urging R&D funding to boost UK's creative industries
Federation chief executive John Kampfner and Nicola Mendelsohn, co-chair of the Creative Industries Council, have written a joint letter to Business Secretary Greg Clark concerning the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund. They have urged support for the development and exploitation of immersive technologies, such as virtual and augmented reality, when decisions are taken on the next wave of funding - as recommended by Sir Peter Bazalgette in his independent review of the creative industries. Public support for R&D could make a major difference to the future prospects of the UK’s creative industries.
