Membership Terms and Conditions
On becoming a member of the Creative Industries Federation ("the Federation", "C.I.F.", "us", "our" or "we"), you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions which govern our relationship with you.
The information you provide to us at the point of registration is important and you hereby warrant that such information is accurate, true and up to date. You also undertake promptly to inform us of any changes to the information provided.

Membership
The Federation offers a range of membership packages (details of which can be found at the Federation Membership Criteria page creativeindustriesfederation.com/membership. Clarification of which membership package you are entitled to apply for can be discussed with the C.I.F.'s membership department membership@creativeindustriesfederation.com; however, in the event that you take out membership in an incorrect category we reserve the right to terminate your membership with no obligation to repay the membership fee.
All individual members must be at least 18 years of age and the Federation reserves the right to refuse any application for membership or renewal. The Federation may end your membership at any time if, in the reasonable opinion of the Federation, you are in breach of any of these terms and conditions. If you wish to terminate your membership of the Federation, please notify membership@creativeindustriesfederation.com.
Business - A business member is a company whose main business activity can be defined within the creative industry sectors listed below** or, if no classification matches, by agreement with Federation membership officials. Membership fees are based on turnover*, details of these fees and bands are available on the Federation website. Members are required to declare their most recent turnover accurately. The Federation reserve the right to verify this information.
Charity and Not For Profit - A not-for-profit (NFP) member must be incorporated and registered as such with Companies House. NFP members must operate within one of the creative industry sectors listed below** or, if no classification matches, then by agreement with Federation membership officials. A charity member must be registered with the Charity Commission and have a registration number. Membership fees are based on the Charity or NFP's turnover*, details of these fees and bands are available on the Federation website. Charities and NFPs are required to declare their most recent turnover accurately. The Federation reserve the right to verify this information.
Education and Skills - Members in this category must be actively involved in the provision of education and training, offering courses in creative, arts, digital, design or craft subjects. Membership fees are calculated by turnover*, details of these fees and bands are available on the Federation website. Members are required to declare their most recent turnover accurately. The Federation reserve the right to verify this information.
Trade Body Membership - Trade body membership is for organisations whose main activity is promoting the interests of one or more of the creative industry sectors listed below** or which represents or is founded or funded by member individuals or organisations whose main business activity falls within one or more of those sectors. Membership fees are calculated by turnover*. Details of these fees and bands are available on the Federation website. Members are required to declare their most recent turnover accurately. The Federation reserve the right to verify this information. Trade Body applications are subject to agreement by the Federation.
Associate - Associate members are companies that supply services or materials to organisations working in the industry sectors listed below** but are not agreed by the Federation as constituting a creative industry. Membership fees are calculated by turnover*. Details of these fees and bands are available on the Federation website. Members are required to declare their most recent turnover accurately. The Federation reserve the right to verify this information.
Individual - Individual members are those who are either actively employed in a creative activity, training for a career in the creative industries or sole traders with a turnover totalling less than £25,000.00 pa. Organisations that seek representation through individual membership of an employee will be disqualified from participation with the Federation. For the avoidance of doubt, individuals can still apply for individual membership if their employer is a member. Individuals who are in any doubt regarding their eligibility should check with Federation membership officials for a ruling. Applicants under 25 may be asked for proof of date of birth.
*Turnover for these purposes is calculated as the total income for the business on latest filed accounts.

Membership benefits may change and, where possible, will be publicised on the website.
Membership Fees
Details of the membership fees can be found on the Federation website at creativeindustriesfederation.com/membership. Fees are charged on an annual basis - no part-year subscriptions are offered. The Federation reserves the right to increase the membership fee on a yearly basis and you will be informed of any increases in your renewal application.
We do not store credit card details, nor do we share customer details with any third parties. Such details will only be used for the purpose of processing your membership payment.
If you cancel your membership or if your membership is terminated for cause by us, no refund will be given.

Data Protection and Privacy Policy

Any personal data relating to you will be used by us in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Such personal data will be collected, processed and used by us or our agents/service providers for the purpose of registering your application with the Federation, providing you with Federation membership and facilitating any transactions which you may enter into with us.
We may also make use of such data for administration purposes and future enhancements of your benefits, as well as for our marketing, advertising and promotional purposes, which may include sharing the data with our agents/service providers or marketing companies.
From time to time we may wish to share this data with other reputable companies or partnerships both within and outside the European Economic Area (EEA) so as to maximise the benefit of your membership of the Federation. We, or they, may wish to contact you with regard to any of the above by phone, email or post. If you object to the use of your data in any of the ways we have mentioned here and/or you object to us contacting you by any of the methods referred to above then please email us on: info@creativeindustriesfederation.com.
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold on you, for which we may charge a small fee, and to correct any inaccuracies. Please let us know if any of your information needs to be updated.

Password and Security
One of the benefits of Federation membership is enhanced access to the Federation website (creativeindustriesfederation.com). After acceptance of your membership application, you will be issued with a unique membership number and asked to create a password. You covenant that you will keep this password confidential and will not disclose or share it with anyone. Please note that you will be responsible for activities and orders that occur or are submitted under your password.
If you know or suspect that someone else knows your password you are responsible for notifying us immediately. Access to the membership area of our website is for named individuals only and is password protected. Password and login details are non-transferable; anyone found sharing their password and login details will have their membership immediately terminated without refund of fees.

Event and Ticket Sales
Registered members may be able to purchase discounted tickets for Federation conferences and events from us or our subsidiaries or related companies. Prices and availability are subject to change. In the event that we are unable to hold an event, members will receive a full refund of any tickets purchased. No refund will be given if members cancel their tickets.
If we discover an error in the prices quoted on the website we will inform you as soon as practicable and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it.
Events, conferences or other services provided by third parties may be subject to terms and conditions of the respective third party. The Federation disclaims any responsibility or liability for any loss or damage suffered as a result of the provision of any service by a third party.
It is understood and agreed by you that you will not be entitled to disseminate any promotional literature or analogous paraphernalia at any Federation conferences or events.

Third Party Sites
The creativeindustriesfederation.com site contains links to third party online resources. We do not endorse, approve or sanction (unless otherwise stated) nor are we responsible for any third party's products, services, acts or omissions. There is no association or connection between us and the third party (unless otherwise stated) save for the provision of the link. We do not act in partnership with nor as agent for or on behalf of the third party to whom we provide links. Accordingly, neither party may incur any debt or liability on behalf of the other party.

Disclaimer
The Federation does not accept any liability or responsibility for any delay or failure to comply or meet its obligations under these terms and conditions as a consequence of any event or cause which is beyond our control.

Our Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall we, our employees, affiliates, agents or other representatives be liable for any loss or damage (including direct, indirect, consequential, loss of profits, loss of confidential or other information and/or business interruption) arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions and/or your membership of the Federation.
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, in the event that the Federation is found liable in respect of any claim, our maximum liability is limited to the membership fee paid by the member bringing the claim.
Compensation
You hereby undertake to indemnify us against any loss or damage suffered by us as a result of any breach by you of any of these terms of conditions.

Federation Policy Groups and Councils
Membership of the Federation does not give any member the right to sit or attend any committees that have been established by the Federation.

Termination of Membership
If we terminate your membership or you choose to end your membership with the Federation, you must immediately remove the Federation name and logo from any publicity material, website and/or other medium on which you have included the name and/or logo on.
As a consequence of ceasing to be a member, you will no longer have any access to the benefits offered by the Federation. We will remove all reference to you or your company from our materials and website.
Third Party Rights
None of these terms and conditions may be enforced under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 by a party other than you and the Federation.
Law
These terms and conditions and any disputes arising from or in connection with them shall be governed by the laws of England and we and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
